Our new catalog and integrated system will launch on Monday, February 25, 2019!
For more details regarding how this will affect you, our patrons, please read about our migration below.
Camden County Library District will be joining Missouri Evergreen Consortium in February 2019. By partnering with Missouri Evergreen, CCLD patrons will have a new catalog and consortium, offering more materials to our patrons.
Why are we switching?
Our primary reason for making the switch is our patrons, and their ability to access more items within Missouri. By making a move to become an Evergreen Library partner, our patrons will have access to more than 2 million items and over 40 libraries throughout the state of Missouri. Once we become members of Missouri Evergreen, CCLD patrons will find it easier to find, receive, and borrow items than with our current catalog.
What does this mean for our patrons?
During this transition period, we will experience several closures. The first closure will occur Monday, February 4, 2019, for staff training. We will reopen on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, for our regular hours of operation.
We will then close for system migration on Saturday, Feburary 23,2019, and our card catalog will be unaccessible during these dates, as well as, Sunday, February 24, 2019. The new system will be live on Monday, February 25, 2019. During these closure dates, all six branches of the Camden County Library District will be closed.
There are some services taht we offer that require patrons to login with their library card numbers that may not be accessible during these dates, but we will do our upmost to ensure that those services are not interrupted too much or for too long.
What will change?
Once we go live, one of the biggest changes that patrons will notice is our online card catalog; it will look very different from what you are used to seeing. For a preview, please watch the video below. The video was produced by one our new partners libraries, Scenic Regional Library, outside of St. Louis.
With the card catalog being one of the primary ways patrons find items within our library, we will be available on the day we go live and any day after to answer questions on how to use the new card catalog.
Beginning Monday, February 25, 2019, all patrons' will need a 4-digit PIN number, along with your library card number, to access the My Account portion of the Evergreen card catalog. Your new PIN number will be the last four digits of your phone number. If you don't have a phone number we will be able to generate a generic PIN number. Don't worry, patrons will be able to change their PIN number, if they desire, from their account online.
Frequently Asked Questions
I already have a Camden County Library District library card. What do I need to do?
Nothing! There is no need to get a new library card as the Evergreen system works with our existing cards. Your CCLD library card will continue to grant you access to our collection (print and digital) and our public computers. You will still be able to access the online card catalog, look up items, and place holds on them.
Can I still use my CCLD library card to get eBooks and eAudiobooks through Libby, Overdrive, Axis360, RBdigital, hoopla, and EBSCOHost?
Yes! This change will not affect any of these platforms.
