Kids in the Kitchen

Youth participants learn to prepare simple, healthy foods they can make for themselves and their family members.

Ashley Goring, University of Missouri Extension Office, Camden County, will be hosting Kids in the Kitchen on the following dates at the Camdenton Library:

Friday, July 7th - Kitchen Sense - Cancelled - The first Kids in the Kitchen will be held on July 21st.

Friday, July 14th - No Class

Friday, July 21st - The Incredible, Edible 5 Food Groups

Friday, July 28th - Rice is Nice; Choose Whole Grains

Friday, August 4th - I'll Eat These Vegetables   

Friday, August 11th - Did You Ever See a Kiwi; Fantastic Fruits

Friday, August 18th - Ole Beans; Beans, Beans, and More Beans

These six lessons cover topics such as basic cooking skills, good nutrition, healthy food choices, food safety, and physical activity.  Each lesson includes kid-friendly handouts such as recipes and tips for how to use kitchen equipment safely. 

Each class has room for 10-15 elementary kids (K-5th); please pre-register for this program by calling Karen C at (573) 346-5954 or email at karenc@ccld.us
